Got Vaxxed? Here are the most common reasons people don’t get the jab…
...and they don’t make a lick of sense to the science.
1. Taking the vaccine will give me the virus! That’s what I heard, anyway…
Hold your horses.
While it is true that typical vaccines operate by injecting patients with a sliver of the virus they are meant to ward off, the Covid-19 vaccine does not contain even a smidge of real coronavirus. Not a typical vaccine. Typical objections need not (and do not) apply.
2. The side effects! The side effects! What about the side effects?
The vaccine has gone through thorough testing—despite the rapid pace of development.
We know the side effects.
Many hold-outs hold the contention that the vaccine comes with a litany of unwanted or unknown long-term side effects. This is untrue. According to doctors, any unpleasant side effects would arise within the first two weeks of getting the shot. That’s why during testing the FDA monitored test patients for over two months after receiving the shot before authorizing its use for the wider public.
3. I’ve heard the vaccine screws up childbirth.
A welcome concern for expecting mothers or couples planning to have children.
Nevertheless, there is no evidence—zero—that the Covid-19 vaccine affects fertility.
4. It’s my right not to get the jab, and it’s none of your damn business.
By not getting vaccinated, you’re endangering others. It is within your right to refuse. But by refusing the vaccine you are putting the lives of others at risk, including your friends and loved ones. This is a poor excuse to refuse the vaccine.
5. I’m under 30 with no underlying conditions. I don’t need the vaccine.
Cases of young people contracting the virus and its life-altering long-term effects are numerous. Young people transmit the virus at the same viral load as older people. Not only do many young people contract the virus, many suffer the usual effects of chronic fatigue, shortness of breath, chest pain, and brain fog. Furthermore, young people are more and more showing up with long-term effects that affect their immune system forever.
Being young is no excuse.
Do your part. Get the jab.
