9/11: Forever in Our Hearts
On September 11th, 2001, 19 terrorists affiliated with al-Qaeda hijacked four commercial airliners and launched the largest terrorist attack in US history. Nineteen years on, we remember the legacies of those that lost their lives in the attacks and the first responders who gave their lives saving others.
This attack tragically claimed the lives of nearly 3,000 Americans and injured nearly 25,000 more. Among this figure were several foreign nationals, particularly among those who worked in the World Trade Center's twin towers, which was the epicenter of the attack.
The singular event of 9/11 was an attack on the American way-of-life, as well as liberty, resilience, and democracy itself. It was orchestrated to break the American spirit and bring the nation to its knees. But, much like the mythical Phoenix, America rose from the ashes reborn stronger and more committed to the ideas of human liberty and freedom.

It was an attack against everything America stood for as a nation and as a people. When the twin towers were attacked, the terrorists targeted the American economy, free-market enterprise, and capitalism. Despite this, we rose again. When they attacked the Pentagon, it was an attack on America's strength, military, security, and defense. Yet again, we were not defeated.
Not stopping there - the terrorists sought to attack our seat of political power and the symbol of our democracy, the White House. But, they were defeated and foiled in their mission by the patriotic Americans of United Flight 93, who sabotaged their attempt by crashing the plane into a field in southern Pennsylvania.
Though the pain of the September 11th attacks will remain ever-fresh in our hearts, the events of that sad day will forever motivate us as a nation to continue fighting for liberty, freedom, democracy, and peace. As President George W. Bush said in his national address to the nation on that fateful day, "Terrorist attacks can shake the foundations of our biggest buildings, but they cannot touch the foundation of America. These acts shatter steel, but they cannot dent the steel of American resolve."
Nothing can shake the American resolve or quench the American spirit. As patriots, we will never forget the sacrifice of those that lost their lives in the 9/11 terrorist attack. We will continue to uphold the values and the ideas inspired in their wake. Most importantly, we will never forget the legacies these heroes have left behind.

In honor of September 11th, we remember the victims and first responders who lost their lives. We pledge to retake America and reposition her on the path of greatness, equality, freedom, and liberty. Our diversity is our strength as a nation, and the Biden/Harris campaign is committed to safeguarding it.
